People are often surprised when visiting the Shoals for the first time that we
have so much to offer. The buzz among those who know is, “The Shoals, Alabama’s
best kept secret.” We are located in the Northwest corner of the state along the
Tennessee River, with Mississippi on our left and Tennessee just up the road a few
miles. We have an abundance of fertile valleys for agriculture, rugged rolling hills
for hiking, wildlife, and hunting, and rocky bluffs of sandstone and limestone for
exploring. Northwest Alabama is a sportsman’s paradise for hunting and fishing and
golfing. Artists, writers, and naturalists have inspiration at their front door.
The Shoals is full of hometowns where people know and care about their neighbors
